Get Elon Musk on The Rest Is Politics

Elon Musk is at the center of a fast-moving storm over xAI’s Grok, with lawmakers and watchdogs from California to London pressing him on explicit AI deepfakes and child safety, and with governments in multiple countries restricting the tool. On January 14, 2026, California’s attorney general opened an investigation, and the UK prime minister said X is moving to comply with new laws that will criminalize sexual deepfakes this week, putting Musk on the defensive right now.

The Rest Is Politics thrives on the intersection of tech, law and power in Britain and Europe, and Musk’s platforms are under active EU and UK scrutiny for moderation and recommender systems, turning his appearance into must-hear accountability. Getting him on this show today would force answers on regulation, elections and AI harms that affect millions in the UK and beyond.

Musk has not previously been a guest on The Rest Is Politics, though the show has run a dedicated series about him and episodes discussing his influence.
