The simulation hypothesis is often a disguised question about mathematics
Most simulation arguments are really asking whether the universe is fundamentally computational or fundamentally mathematical — and those are different claims. Bostrom's trilemma rides on substrate-independence assumptions that a mathematical Platonist would reject outright. Teasing apart the computational and the mathematical versions could sharpen the whole debate.
Psychedelics as metaphysical instruments, not just therapeutics
Most of the current psychedelic renaissance is clinical — depression, PTSD, addiction. But the older question, whether these compounds give epistemic access to something, has been quietly dropped. Curt's guests often treat them as data points about the structure of mind, which is a much stronger and stranger claim.
Interviewing as a philosophical method
Curt treats the long-form conversation as a way of doing philosophy rather than just reporting on it — putting rival ontologies (Hoffman's conscious realism, Kastrup's analytic idealism, Carroll's poetic naturalism) into the same room and letting them collide. Worth exploring whether the interview format produces knowledge that papers and journals structurally cannot.
