Get Prof. Lee Cronin on Dwarkesh Podcast

Lee Cronin is turning chemistry into software...his company Chemify just raised more than $50 million in October 2025 after launching its first fully automated Chemifarm in June 2025, with a US hub opening to scale on‑demand molecule manufacturing. This is colliding with a pharma scramble for faster drug discovery, so hearing him unpack chemputation on Dwarkesh could shape how labs and investors move this year.

At the same time, Cronin’s assembly theory has new results in 2025 tying it to computational complexity, and it is under active scientific challenge from 2024 critiques, which makes a rigorous long‑form conversation especially timely. If we are about to use assembly theory for life detection and materials design, we need clarity now on what the theory really predicts and where the limits are.
