Athletic Director at Western Michigan University

This podcast is about all the sports teams in the State of Michigan. I cover Michigan State, Michigan, the Detroit teams, and D2 and D3 athletics. Not only is the biggest news for those teams covered, every week there is also at least one interview released, where either a coach or college athlete joins me to talk about their journey!
Alex Gary gives MichiGang Sports a guest who can speak to the teams and storylines the show's audience actually follows, rather than a recycled national take. Putting him in a long-form conversation lets listeners hear his reasoning and follow-ups instead of a highlight clip. For a podcast built on a specific fanbase, that kind of booking is what keeps the show distinct.

A conversation with him would focus on the programs and journeys that rarely get airtime.

For a fan base raised on cautious pessimism, a genuinely good team changes the emotional contract — expectations get heavier, and every Sunday starts carrying actual consequence again.
Sports Talk Has Become an Economics of the Hot Take
Outrage clips travel further than analysis, so the incentive is to be loud rather than right. The interesting question is whether an audience that actually knows ball can sustain a show that refuses to play that game.
