    What does the dopamine story get right — and what does it oversell?

    The 'your brain on porn' narrative is popular and partly true. Ask him where the science is solid, where it's been stretched for rhetorical effect, and how that shapes the advice he gives.

    Accountability software changes the friction, not the man

    Blockers and monitoring tools raise the cost of a decision but do nothing about the underlying want. The tools are scaffolding; the change comes from relationships, honesty, and a rebuilt life.

    Shame drives secrecy, and secrecy drives relapse

    The cycle is self-reinforcing: the behavior produces shame, shame produces hiding, hiding removes the accountability that would interrupt the behavior. Breaking it usually means disclosure before the man feels ready.
