Tales from the Touchline

I have been involved in grassroots football as a player and coach for 35 years since first playing for my primary school. I’m thankful that my involvement has allowed me to form some brilliant friendships and allowed me to meet and talk to some truly inspirational people. In an age where social media allows everybody to be a friend, I want to revisit some of these friendships and discuss their connection to grassroots football and also speak to some of those I’ve not met previously but followed their stories on social media. Over the course of the series I hope to speak to people about a wide range of topics, what grassroots has or maybe hasn’t done for them and also recall some of my own experiences along the way.
